Chiyogami paper, literally thousand generation (chiyo) paper (gami), is meticulously produced by hand by silkscreening each layer of colour individually. Developed in Japan during the Edo Period (1603-1867), papermakers emulated the fashionable kimono textiles being produced in the Yuzen area of Kyoto. Many of the patterns contain highly symbolic imagery, such as cranes for long life and plum blossoms and pine boughs for beauty and longevity. You can use these beautiful papers to decorate cards, for scrapbooking, origami or other papercrafts.
Note: colours on screen may vary to actual product.
